A proposal of location, venue, food, decorations, and entertainment to celebrate a traditional Roman festival.
Event: It's Tubilustrium Time Today at Tiberio
Location: Rome, Italy
Venue: Grand Hotel Tiberio
Guests: 30 sixth graders
Date of Party: 3/23/2013
Time of Party: 2:00 to 5:00 PM
Budget: $1000 (760 euros)
The purpose of this proposal is to inform the client of the costs of holding a celebration for a traditional Roman holiday. Costs are in Euros, and the exchange rate with dollars might change a little between the time of this proposal and the event date. Current exchange rate is 0.76 Euros for every dollar.
Based on the client's needs for a celebration in the early spring, I researched and found Tubilustrim, which is an ancient Roman holiday celebrated on March 23. With the budget of $1000 (760 Euros) in mind, I researched several options in Rome, Italy. I propose Grand Hotel Tiberio's Monte Mario room. It is fairly cheap(150 euros per afternoon), with a 7m x 5m space. I also propose Magician Luca(roughly 200 euros per hour). He is based in Naples and does performances worldwide. I propose the Domicilio pizza restaurant for catered food. The choices I have selected are 5.50 euros per person. I also recommend using an iPod and a speaker for music, downloading a relaxed album for the meal, and a lively one for the dance. I suggest using lots of gold and Bordeaux colored decorations for the Roman theme.
The guests will arrive at 2:00 and begin eating the meal. After everyone finishes, Mr. Luca will put on his show for one hour. When he leaves, the lights dim and balloons are brought out. The guests will dance along to the music, toss balloons around, and have fun for the rest of the afternoon.
Here is how I would run an invitation:
"Big news! We are doing something new at the Grand Hotel Tiberio on March 23, 2013! There is going to be a celebration for 30 people about Tubilustrium, which is an ancient Roman festival. It was actually held on this date many years ago. There will be a meal in which guests can listen to traditional Italian music. Then it's time for magic madness! Magician Luca will play tricks, illusions, and more during this one-hour segment. The highlight of the party is when the room is cleared out--here it comes--dance time! The lights go dim and the peppy Italian music starts up. Here we go! Fantastico!"
